Kate L. Ernst

Kate L. Ernst joined the firm as an associate attorney in June of 2023 after receiving her J.D. Degree from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2022 and her B.A. in Equine Business Management from Cazenovia College in 2009.  While in law school, she received numerous Pro Bono awards and was twice elected to the Student Bar Association where she held the position of Treasurer.  Ms. Ernst was also Vice President of the Public Action Law Society and was invited into the Inns of Courts as a pupil member.  She is a member of the New York State and Saratoga County Bar Associations.

Ms. Ernst assists clients in each of the firm’s practice areas, particularly in animal law, bankruptcy, gun rights, vehicle and traffic, wills, and housing matters.  She is one of the firm’s lead attorneys in its animal law practice and actively competes in equine competitions throughout the state.  During her time in Memphis, she spent time working with in-house counsel at Baptist Memorial Healthcare and for the Shelby County Attorney’s Office.

Ms. Ernst is happy to be back in her hometown and to bring her experience to assist those in the greater Saratoga Region.

She is admitted to practice in all Courts in New York State and the Northern District of New York.
